About Ed

Ed Andersen is a professional photographer based in Nevada, and is available for freelance assignments throughout the state.

Ed began his photography career in the early 1970's as a photojournalist working for the Woodland Ca. Daily Democrat. He was hired by the California Department of Transportation in 1978 as a staff photographer, and was the Supervising Photographer for the Department. He has covered a wide variety of assignments, including serving seventeen years as the official photographer for the Governor's Office in Sacramento, working closely with former Governors George Deukmejian, Pete Wilson and Gray Davis. He has also freelanced for various local newspapers, including the Davis Enterprise and the Vacaville Reporter, as well as handling assignments for the Associated Press.

Sports photography is Ed's specialty and he has regularly covered such teams as the San Francisco 49ers, Oakland Raiders, San Francisco Giants, Oakland A's, and numerous collegiate and prep schools. He was also a regular contributor to Softball West Magazine. While on assignment for the magazine, Ed photographed the USA Olympic Softball team when they captured the gold medal at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta.
